Our summer sermon series will take us through the book of Ruth. Written during the days of David the King, the book recounts a moment of light and redemption during the period of Judges, when "there was no king in Israel, and everyone did what was right in his own eyes."
Ruth reminds us that even in dark, chaotic days such as the period of the Judges, God is at work amoung His people, working His plan and providing for His people. Ruth is the very personal story of a woman who suffers tremendous loss, endures, and sees God reverse her fortunes. It is a story of loss, love, perserverance, God's sovereignty, God's goodness, and redemption. Ruth ultimately becomes the great grandmother of King David, and is a signal figure in the lineage of Jesus Churst, the Son of David.
