True North Student Ministry
Our True North student ministry program aims to lead Junior and Senior High students into a vital relationship with Christ, and to equip them with a biblical world- and life-view. Our theme is “Helping students say ‘yes’ to Jesus, today and for a lifetime.”
Who We Are (Our Values):
- Worship – We seek to show students that all of life is worship before God, and that we can worship Him at home, at school, on the athletic field…everywhere!
- Community – One of the greatest ways True North serves families is by providing a place where students can develop close friendships that are based on the gospel.
- Maturity – We believe that obedience comes from knowing and applying the gospel to every area of our lives. The more we allow the incredible news of Jesus Christ to penetrate our hearts, the more we will love our Lord and our neighbor.
- Mission – Because most students in our culture do not have an understanding of who Christ is and the good news He brings, we seek to be a mission to NCCC students. We equip believing students to share their faith and offer our Wednesday night meeting (707) not just for NCCC families, but for visitors as well. We view our ministry to Greater Cincinnati as missional, but we are also involved in regular mission opportunities in other places.
What We Do (Our Programs & Events):
- 707 – We meet most Wednesday nights from 7-8:30 p.m. at NCCC. 707 is a high-energy, large-group meeting with food, games, music, and a teaching time.
- DiG Groups – DiG Groups are a chance for students to dig a little deeper into God’s Word in the context of a smaller group. Each group is led by an adult leader and students are grouped by gender. DiG Group leaders also take responsibility for shepherding and caring for students over the course of the school year. DiG Groups meet during various days and times throughout the week.
- Deep End Sunday School – We offer separate Sunday School classes for Junior and Senior High students at 10:00 a.m. on Sundays. The emphasis in these classes is on equipping students to understand biblical truth and its application to their lives.
- Conferences & Retreats – In addition to our annual Fall Retreat, we provide other retreats and conferences throughout the year as a means of evangelism, community building, and encouragement to our students. Plus they’re just flat out fun!
- Missions – We believe that every Christian should be involved in missions in some capacity, including students. Every summer True North offers a mission trip tailored to students, often to Monterrey, Mexico. We also encourage students to participate in outreach through regular NCCC ministry opportunities such as the Christmas Store, Homework Club tutoring, and Servant Saturdays.
